    Hi all

Wondering what the general sentiment is towards company share units. Is this type of ownership structure an ideal investment? There is no title to hang on to, just a certificate of shares that allows you to occupy a specific unit. From what I’ve read so far, some of the drawbacks include lenders not wishing to lend, too much paperwork to go over, lack of flexibility because a lot of things require approval from the directors/ other owners including who you sell your shares too, and VCAT not having any jurisdiction over the former. Not to mention that due to the above, cap growth is not. very good.

Any stories, horror and good, that you might be aware of?

    Many thanks!

I would never consider buying a company title property myself, some do it for lifestyle reasons

in Sydney many old properties in the city or kings cross area are company title, but I don’t think a good investment generally

Thanks, Terry. Is it for those reasons I mentioned?
