All Topics / Help Needed! / Building a duplex for the first time
Hi
Any help would be much appreciated.
I am looking to buy land in Sydney’s western suburbs and build a duplex I was thinking one’s with 4 bedroom’s 2 bathrooms and a single garage and double story.
I am told I need a 600sq block to put these on different titles.
The land cost from what I can see is about $500 – $550 thousand and from the couple of builders I could manage to find advised a rough cost would be $500 – $600 thousand.
From what I can gather it is around $30 thousand for council cost for the extra sewer ect.
Just wondering what other cost’s and how much I would be in for.
Any other advise would be greatFrom a lending perspective – you’ll need to use a lender that’s ok with a dual occ construction. Not all are keen on them.
Cheers
Jamie

Mate there are so many aspects, consult a Private certifer or Town planning specialist in your area. there help in this first one is going to be massive, it can get appealed to court, there are soil tests, engineering reports and a multitude of other aspects, each that cost money and time and energy. its not a small task and takes time and a lot of due dilligence mate.
the fruit is great if you do this well, also once you’ve done it, it is much clearer to replicate.
