    Hi All,

I am a Australian Citizen & currently living in Middle East. I am thinking about buying investment property (villa/house) in Sydney or Melbourne. My plan is to buy land & build house. Budget is around $500k. Please can you help me with some questions –

Q1. If anyone can suggest me some “reputed” property investment or real estate firms that can help me in buying land & constructing house in Mel or Syd ? I am living in Middle East & can’t travel frequently to Australia & hence need someone “reliable”.

Q2. Which one is better between Melbourne or Sydney for property investment ?

Q3. Any good suburbs you would like to suggest where new land sales for building house is coming up ?

My definition of good suburb is – close to train station, commuting time not more than 1 hour to CBD & safe area.

    Thanks
    Andy

    Hi Andy

Welcome to the forum and i hope it is not too hold in the East.

Personally I prefer Melbourne over Sydney merely because i believe you get better value of money.

As an Expat have you looked at your Finance options as finance for Non Residents has certainly changed over the last 3-6 months.

In regards to a reliable Buyers Agent for Victoria you can’t go past Jacqui (JacM) from the forum.

Shoot me an email if you need her details.

    Cheers

    Yours in Finance

Sydney has had quite a run up (and Melb for that matter), but the fundamentals for Melbourne over the long term certainly does make it an attractive play. Lisa Parker in Melbourne from http://www.parkerinvest.com.au is worth having a discussion with if looking for a buyers agent expert.
