Please, would someone have some advice on how to get the most suitable discretionary trust fund. I just want to separate my family home from my investment property which I am looking to buy. My accountants set them up regularly and have quoted around $800 to set one up. I am calling them back to find out if that is one that anyone can buy over the internet – which I heard are not worth the paper they are printed on, or if that is a slightly more sophisticated one. Or should I only go through a law firm to guarantee it is any good. If so, has any one any recommendations for a suitable company to set one up in the South Brisbane area. Thank you so much in advance for any advice given.

You should seek legal advice as trusts are complex legal relationships. you can find free deeds online, but the deed is only half the story. the accountant will only buy a template off a lawyer anyway – but they cannot give advice about how to structure the trustee, who should be the appointor, what happens when someone dies, goes insane or disappears etc.

get it wrong and it will cost you a fortune.
