Best resources for DIY Property Managers

Hi, I’m looking for some resources for those who choose to self-manage their rental properties. One of the minor stumbling blocks is advertising for and finding good quality tenants. I have a close friend who has managed his own rental properties for at least twenty years, and he recommended one site for checking a potential tenant’s history. Which sites have you found most helpful to investors who prefer a hands on approach to property management?
