All Topics / General Property / Stamp duty concession VIC if using guarantor
Hi does anyone know if we use a guarantor for the purchase of a property, would we still be eligible for stamp duty concession as a first home buyer? Thanks!
Guarantors not on title would generally not effect this. Check the forms.

Security guarantee shouldn’t effect your stamps concession.

Shouldn’t be an issue at all.
They aren’t taking ownership of the property.

Here is the State Revenue Office’s website, which lists the eligibility for stamp duty concessions: http://www.sro.vic.gov.au/sro/sronav.nsf/LinkView/C88211C9E07486F0CA2578B70001025018E490D796850F8ECA2575C1008187C7
Duties Form 61 can be downloaded under the heading “How Do I Apply…” – it provides more information on eligibility.
Good luck!
