All Topics / Finance / Recommendations for a good mortgage broker in Inner Western Sydney
Hi all,
Hoping someone on here can recommend a good mortgage broker who services the inner west in Sydney. We currently have loans with St George and looking to change lenders. Any help would be much appreciated – keen to get in touch with forum members who are brokers as well.
Cheers
Hiya
I can’t recommend anyone specifically in West Syd.
Do you need face to face or would you be comfortable with email/phone/skype?
Why are you considering the refi?
Cheers

I’d be contacting Jamie if you want to structure things correctly and solid advice. As you can see he’s a good looking man but certainly don’t need face to face meetings. Just a good phone and email.
Photographers can work wonders Joe :-)

Hi,
I’m a broker too. New on the forum. You are welcome to check out my profile on linkedin (link is in my signature below). Sorry I dont have a recommendation for anyone in Sydney but have done a few interstate deals myself. Some of my clients moved over there and have stayed with me. Because we haven’t met you will have to send me certified identification for me to process your loan for you.You may find this tedious which is understandable. I’m sure someone from sydney is on this forum though so good luck with your search, i’m sure you’ll find someone soon enough.
cheers

Hi Kathlene
Sorry i can see you clearly have not read the Terms & Conditions of the forum when you signed up.
The forum is not here for anyone to promote their own business but to assist others and generally share ideas on property.
Should members decide you offer a service they require and decide to contact you then all well and good.
Maybe you can contribute with a few thousand posts first and then market your services.
Cheers

I can see you are a well established user and member of the site Richard. And I’m sure its doing well for you. 10k in posts? Its in full view for everyone to see. I’m not pretending to be someone I’m not. I’ve identified myself as being new to the forum and I was merely responding to this persons request for a broker. No need for you to contribute with intimidation tactics as you could just hurt your own profile. We all have a job to do here. Why don’t we let the member make up their own mind?

Hiya Kathlene
Welcome aboard.
Richard wasn’t trying to intimidate.
It’s just that we get a lot of new businesses popping up with the “call me” approach which goes against forum rules/etiquette.
Back to the OP though. Why are you considering a refi from STG? Just trying to work out whether or not is justified. Is it to source a more competitive product, restructure or you’re just sick of them?
Cheers

Hi all,
Thanks for the responses. Jamie, we’re just looking at our options at the moment. Main reasons being:
– Recent bank valuation came in WAY under market value.. I understand the valuation will be conservative but this valuation was way off.
– We want to see if we can get a better deal than what we have now through St George.Jamie, I’ll get in touch with you over the next few days.

Hi newgen
Had a few clients in a similar predicament this week – vals with existing lender coming in low.
For a couple of them, we were able to get decent “desktop” valuations with other lenders which we were able to use for a refinance/equity release application.

That’s fine Jamie. Thanks for the note. It does seem a little hostile here though. I’ve been thumbed down for stating my point of view in other threads. It seems like this is the Big Boys club and somewhat discriminating towards new members.

There is no hostility at all from most members although having been on board since 2002 i see so many new Brokers come onboard with a view to seeing if they can’t attract business from forum members, flogging their wares and then moving onto newer pastures.
Consequently we monitor the contents and tones of the posts to ensure that no one is abusing the rules or reasons why the forum was set up.

Hi Newgen
No reason why you couldn’t get your Broker to and order a new valuation with an alternative lender to see what it comes it at.
In fact some lenders you can choose the panel valuer or at least choose who you don’t want to do the report.
Cheers
