Really hating this new layout. Complicated, too much advertising and too much going on.
I don’t mind the new look, good to mix it up a bit
Hi,
Much of what you don’t see is where the changes have been happening as me moved from Drupal and WordPress.
The visual gives us something to work from a lot easier than before, but it is pretty raw.
Ideas for improvement are welcome.

Everything is great apart from the visual side of things. Feels like i am trying to navigate through a forest. Sometimes less is better.
I thought the last one was bad and barely functional. This one is another level lower again.
For a guy who is supposedly a property guru the IT side leaves a lot to be desired. Considering this site gets milked for all its worth I would think throwing some real dollars at this revenue stream and fixing it once an for all would be money well spent.
It’s time you got your mate Gehl onto it… after all he’s supposed to be the go to man on all things net related. Maybe he could give you a few tips.
where is the search bar? I thought this was a forum why is it so complicated
Freckle,
When you go to dinner at a friend’s house, to you comment about how much you dislike the new decor?
Why not apply that genius brain of yours and come up with some constructive criticism?
I for one would like to know:
a. What specifically you don’t like; and
b. What specifically we could do to improve; and
c. What specifically would you like to see by way of improved functionality?
Maybe you’ll find the world a better place if you are more helpful.

Took me 20 minutes to work out how to login.
Not happy Jan!
Yeah… I agree about the visual difficulties.
Seems unnecessary busy despite there being so much white space. That’s an easy fix though.
The bigger issue is the platform change, and that seems to be holding up well.

Hi Steve
Thanks for hosting the site.
First thing I noticed was an inability to quickly look at the most recent posts – it might be possible but I can’t find it.
My profile is playing up too. It logs me as another Jamie M who was a member 7 years ago and posted once. However, when I post in the forum it shows my avatar and user details as normal.
Personally – I think the key with any forum is simplicity. It’s the content that’s important – so making it easy to read, respond and search is of most importance.
Cheers
Jamie

Thanks Jamie, for the suggestions and the respect.
I’ll get the team to look into your log in asap.
Yes, I concur about the information access and usability. These are high priorities for us.
Again, any ideas / specifics for upgrades are very welcome.

Bit hard to actually post a new forum topic took too long to find. A link at the top of the page would be easier.

This is the reason why Freckle doesn’t get invited to dinner much.

Steve, would be good to have an active topics button so we can come in and see all the new posts since last time.
I also received a few updates of someone mentioning me in a post – including myself, but when I looked these were posts from 2013.
Overall appearance of the site looks good I think. Like the colour. The font was a bit small but that is easily taken care of (control + button).

Thats a lil harsh, compared with what other forum? 1970s looking somersoft.com or the cluttered Australianpropertyforum.com I think it’s better than it’s competitors
