    Hi all,

I was recently stung by a tradie so thought I would share an article I have written in response.

Thankfully I was able to mitigate any major expense or time blow outs but it did get me thinking how other people fare with regards to tradies/builders/project managers.

If a shady tradie can get me (with 20 years designing/renovating/project management experience), then goodness knows what they get away with dealing with new renovators! Argghh makes me so mad!

Anyway, here it is – it's written about builders and project managers, but applies so any sort of tradie…

Thanks for the link Jane. Lots of questions can be asked to determine integrity of builders/tradies. Generally, subbies that are happy over a period of time with your bulider is a good sign. Many builders don't  put their name to a title, but it doesn't hurt to do a title search on a builders place of residence. Caveats can say a lot, even if it's in his partners name. Out of interest, what was the dodgy sting perpetrated by your tradie?
