All Topics / General Property / Days on market ? Information ?
Hi Guys,
I'm new to Australia, and am interested in investing.
One of the issues I'd like to find out, is how long does it take to sell a property which has had a recent renovation – ie: I've done my homework, found out what the local market is buying and then done a reno in the same style.
But how do I find out how long it's taking other properties to sell?
Do I have to trawl through websites finding individual streets statistics, or is there somewhere I can simple plug in a zip code, or suburb to find this info?
Thanks in advance.
Hi there
Welcome aboard.
This website is pretty handy http://www.refindhouseprices.com/
Shows how long properties have been on the market and how much they've been discounted by since they were listed.
Cheers

Go to http://www.homepriceguide.com.au and type in the postcode you want to know about. That will bring up the number of days to sell for either houses or units in that area. If you want to specifically know about a direct comparison in the area, that will have to be done in much more detail. That is, you will need to know when it was put onto the market (RP Data, Residex will advise you of that if you have access to the property database of the state in question) and when it was sold (either real estate agent who sold it to advise you or waiting for it to be put onto the LPMA data base 8 weeks after it is sold.
