Hello All, I have floated around this site for many years and found allot of really helpful information.. thanks. I have a strong interest in property and have developed both some skills and experience in the industry but am having a little difficulty with where to go (career wise)…. where to focus next? I am a licenced real estate agent but I am not satisfied working the tread mill of general realestate. I like the buyers agent role although in my area there is still resistance to pay for such services and as such you still find yourself on a tread mill working lots of hours for little pay. My passion has always been working along side developers (being their right hand man so to speak). I have been fortunate to be a consultant for a few over the past many years and as such have gained great experience but under the traditional model one is either a consultant (such as engineer, surveyor etc which I am not) or they are agent (who controls sales) in which they are paid commission. I do not like this model and when working off the plan so many years in advance with no guarantee of payment it is risky. So my question is does anyone have any ideas as to where I should focus my attentions, maybe expand my official qualifications?  Right now I am jack of all, specialist of none. I would say my primary skills include providing developers with both factual researched information and years of intellectual property in order for them to make educated decisions (too often I find that agents give incorrect information to developers which significantly affects their feasibilities). I also have a broad understanding of the full process therefore am able to lighten the load for developers by coordinating consultants, managing sales teams and administrative duties. Anyone have ideas on how to position myself to maximise my skills and earn decent coin… and no I cant do it for myself as I have no borrowing capacity (self employed).
