I have bought an off the plan townhouse from the bathla group/ universal property group/ western sydney property group.
The model-house looked good and I bought it without googling <moderator: edit>.
Before settlement, I found so many wrong installation in my house.
Wrong thickness of bench top, wrong colour of floor, wrong dishwasher, wrong blinds, wrong shower booth, wrong shower head.
When I asked them to give me the name of site supervisor, they refused.
I have phoned, e-mailed and visited so many times and they finally replaced.
But the real problem starts after settlement.
I have already reported about hot water and gas cook top defects on final inspection. They delayed fixing the problem and I lived in the house without gas and hot water for 2 weeks since settlement. No cooking and no hot shower.
Of course, there was no apology but I heard from the repair officer "You've got anger-management problem." , when I asked her to fix the gas system. Also, she showed me the door to get out. I did not swear or shout. I was just upset about what they have done in my house.
Although the gas system fixed two weeks later, I found a bumpy floor in one of the bed rooms. They tried to fix the floor by sanding. It failed. They sent a floor technician and measured the bump and it was 20mm. They refused to fix the floor through the floor technician as it cost too much money. They tried to fix the floor with the same person who could not fix the floor in the first trial. Now the floor is still bumpy.
Now they do not want to fix the floor and asked me to lodge a complaint to fair trading. Also, they do not want to fix anything unless the fair trading officer comes in. Also, they wrote in a mail that they do not want to receive a mail till the fair trading person comes in. But I only have 2 months warranty and I have a right to report them about defects and they are obliged to fix them, right? Also they are very rude. They even shout during phone conversation. I shouted back at them but it is really unpleasant experience.
Although I have lodged a complaint now, I really do not want to deal with them but fix the floor and other things through other companies and claim the money to the vendor/builder.
My experience with the company is absolutely awful and ugly. I lost 10kg since I dealt with them.
Please HELP!
I am curious tp know why you settled if things werent up to standard and satisfactory?
I was about to post the same comment. Should have not settled until all defects fixed.
I didn't want to lose my deposit by delaying the settlement date.
I was worried about the consequences of that.
Interior and structural defect warranties are written in the contract. So I just trusted them.
However, now they are saying…they cannot FIX.
This is my first home and if I had'nt moved in, I wouldn't have found anywhere to stay with my family.
