    Hi everyone,

I am completely brand new to the board…just registered 5 min ago…can someone please point me in the direction of what is valuable to read?

We are considering going with PRE (Positive Real Estate) and I have read a number of different opinions on the board in relation to this.

Before we commit, I am keen to do some more reading.

Have been reading Property Investment magazines for a while, been to TIC seminars, been to PRE seminars…it is probably close to the time for action but definitely don't want to mess up….

what is your advice to read on the board? Which forum?

    many thanks!!

    Hi Elegy

    Welcome aboard :-)

I'd start with educating yourself about property investing. Learn the fundamentals and the different approaches that investors take.

I wouldn't rush into forking out any cash. Instead spend a few dollars on some good books – here's a list https://www.propertyinvesting.com/forums/community/heads-up/6845

Continue to frequent forums like this one with free up to date information.

In some states there's informal meet ups that are either arranged on here or the other property investment forum, somersoft. Keep an eye out for these – you'll be able to meet some like minded people.

When you're ready to go – surround yourself with a good team that includes an accountant and finance person.

    Cheers

    Jamie

Hi, search PRE and TIC on google. There are mountains of threads on both.

My opinion- don't do it. I almost signed up for PRE. Was very keen and had $$$ ready to spend. They were very sexist and completely ignored me and neglected to ring me back. I had my husbands name on the form as my spouse and they DID ring him. He kept telling them to ring me. In the end he told them how stupid they were. THEN they rang me.

Anyway that's nothing to do with their product. They did push their own properties which is a conflict of interest to me. They were pushing Coomera at the time calling it "boomera Coomera". It did nothing for many years. Not sure of growth lately. haha.

Be aware also that PRE has sold branches to people like yourself that have signed up to their service. I guess the quality is reliant on the organisers of your area.

I think you can do better by reading forums such as this one and Somersoft. You will gain invaluable knowledge. Ask questions and go to meetups to network with likeminded people. Where are you located? Go to meetups.com and search for meetings in your area. There is a good one in Sydney.

As mentioned above- different people have their own opinions and this is just mine.

    Hi Elegy

Welcome!  Hope you find us helpful here on the forums.

I'm just going to suggest that you be sure in your own mind that you feel comfortable with a provider before you have them help you with your investing.  Don't just follow opinions of the others.  Understand the reasons why you believe the provider is best positioned to help you.

    Which forums to read…

    Hope this helps!!
