Hi I'm new on the forum and looking forward to hearing your stories. I'm thinking of buying a rural property in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. preferably from Cooroy area southwards. What are the rules re lot sizes and subdivision. I have done a subdivision in NSW of a 12.38Ha block and there were restrictions on lot sizes etc. We (in NSW) needed to achieve an average size of 6Ha for our rural residential subdivision. So we were at least able to do a 2 lot subdivision. Are there similar rules in the Sunshine Coast hinterland? I have Googled till my eyes went square but not found anything. All the best Conrod.

You need to go to the council's website and ascertain their DA Guide. If there isn't one available on their website then you will need to call the council.

They will give you the details on zoning, minimum dimensions, land size, etc.
