All Topics / General Property / Accredited Mortgage Broker training face to face
Hi all,
I am wanting to do the training to become a mortgage broker and am wondering if anyone could recommend any accredited trainers that will do the course face to face, not online externally. I have always struggled externally as life gets in the road too much.
I am in Adelaide so here would be best but I am prepared to travel if need be to do what I have to do. Or, are there other suggestions to getting into the industry?
Any help and suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thank you so much.
I hope this is the correct section of the forum to ask. If not, I apologise.
Regards,
Mikal
I did my certificate IV and diploma training with the National Finance Institute. They do face to face though I'm not sure about Adelaide.
I know that the MFAA have a list of their preferred training providers on their website if you want to google it.
Cheers
Tom
I always suggest my mentee to use Kaplan education. They also offer a face to face training – All states.
As Tom mentioned, MFAA has a list of preferred training providers on their website as well.

Cheers for your comments and suggestion everyone. I've had a look at all of the preferred providers now on the MFAA website and there are only two that offer face to face in Adelaide. The National Finance Institute and AAMC Training.
I am enrolled to do the Diploma of Financial Planning too and along with the Cert IV or Diploma of Finance and Mortgage Broking, I cannot believe they only take a couple of weeks to complete face to face. Amazing. I bet they are quite intensive with information though surely.
Again, thank you for the suggestions. Very much appreciated. I'm really looking forward to starting my new life and career.
Mikal
Opps! I lied. The National Finance Institute does not offer in Adelaide unless you have a group booking in.
Hi Mikal
The qualifications aren't that difficult to obtain and certainly don't make up for experience in the field.
One of the keys to success in this industry is aligning yourself with an excellent mentor.

Thanks Jamie.
I have noticed that and understand fully the need to be a "people person". That is most of what the job is.
The experience side of it is what I am looking forward to. Most, not all, but most jobs listed ask for experienced brokers or advisors so filtering through what employers actually want from a new employee will be fun if not interesting.
I have no experience formally in the industry, only my interest in my own property investing. I thought given I am going to be losing my job in a couple of weeks why not turn something that is a real interest into a career and make other people as happy as I am. Try to at least.
I'll just start with the study side of it given i'll have the time and then go from there. A challenge I am very much looking forward to.
Any other industry tips of course would be very much appreciated.
Cheers.
I did mine thru AAMC. Pretty good, although I did mine over the net.
From a qualifications perspective I don't think it matters one bit who you study under as long as you get the piece of paper needed at the end of it.

Yep, I also used AAMC – for both the cert IV and diploma. Have no complaints.

it's good to be here , i like this discussion very useful and helpful.
Hey Mikal, did the Dip through NFI, pretty straight forward.
IMHO the study is not that useful and or relevant to the industry and providing a good service.
If you want to have a chat about joining the industry and what it's like, feel free to let me know. I'm based in the CBD.

Did mine thru Intelitrain who were fine.
One exam and the rest done as RPL so made it easier.
You can do your Financial Planning exams in 2 days however that is not to say anyone would engage your services after passing.

Yeah it's a scary thought. I guess the good news is that they don't usually last too long.
