    Hi Everyone,

Have brought a property (western Australia) in a personal trust (discretionary) as the sole trustee.  I will be living in the property for a period of time and renting the property from the trust with a couple of other people as well.  After reviewing a few  PDS of insurance companies, theres many areas where i might not be able to claim if some things were to happen due to that fact i live in the property, even though its in a trust.  most of the people i have talked too in regards to the insurance hadn't dealt with properties being owned by trusts.  I suppose my question is, has anyone out there lived in their own investment properties that were owned by a personal trust, not company trusts, and what sort of insurance did they have and how did they set it up……any advice would be great.

I don't see this making any difference to owning the property in your personal capacity. If you are looking at landlord's insurance then it may, but not for building.
