Hi All,
Anybody used Mortgage Choice before? Are they good?
I am about to use them but would appreciate any input / recommendation.
Many thanks,

Only as good as the person you're dealing with.

I would have to agree with Jamie on this one.
I used Mortgage Choice a couple of times and had a excellent and an average experience. The first guy I dealt with was fantastic. Great to talk to, efficient and as it turned out, he was very passionate about property investing. Even to the extent of lending his services to a University to give talks on it. Unfortunately, he left the business and when our details and loans were handed over to another agent there, efficiency dropped and we were being called all the time to just touch base. Got a bit annoying. It wasn't terrible but certainly a far cry from the previous guy. I also learned from a change of accountant later on that they (Mortgage Choice) are very much aligned with commissions so do not look at a full list of lenders that could properly suit you as an investor.
Of course, it is personal choice. I would recommend asking the agent there about the lenders they have available to them and would they use them personally. Cannot hurt to ask them if they are property investors too.
Enjoy
Mikal
I agree with both Mikal and Jamie here. You have to consult reliable individuals before obtaining this mortgage choice.
Catts, what's made you choosing them over others?

Back in 2007 I spoke with a guy from MC. John Kofiotis seemed good.
We didn’t go with him back then, and thinking to do it this time round. So no special reason other than good first impressions years ago.

Mortgage Choice are a public listed company so like any organisation such as this have to increase the bottom line for their shareholders.
They are a sausage factory where they get certain over ride commission rates from certain lenders who then become their favourite lender irrespective of whether it is right for the client or not.
You purely rely on whether the individual who purchased the franchise in your area has any investment property experience or not.
If not like the say at McDonalds you will get fries with it like it or not.
Cheers

Nothing wrong with that. Have a list of questions to ask based on what you want in a broker and go from there.
Good luck
Oscar
Hi Catts
If it's the same broker from 6 years ago and you've already had a good experience than it's probably worthwhile sticking with them. However, if it's a different broker under the same franchise group then the service offering may be different as the experience is all driven by the person you're dealing with.

Hi Cat
Surround yourself with a team of people that have already achieved thru property what you want to achieve. Couple of great brokers have already pitched in on this thread. Do yourself a favor and ask one of them to do your mortgage broking for you.

I'll qualify that comment from my own experience….
Catt, you want to select a MB that is concerned only with giving you the best service and product possible .
You need to select a MB that will sit down with you and discuss your goals and strategies.
They should be a partner in your wealth creation and guide you along the way.
They are out there Catt I know this for a fact….
Jacqui is right…perhaps they are here right now.
I deal with a load of brokers, talk to them every day of the week.
Could a Mortgage Choice broker be a good one- yes.
BUT, are they going to be as good as some of the ones on here, extremely unlikely.
There are not many people who have the talent and experience of some of the brokers on this forum. I would use them everytime.

Aside from MC, did you consult other mortgage service providers? There are lots of mortgage service providers operating in your place for sure.
