I've just bought a 3 bed house with a separate 1 bed flat on the same title.

There is a laserlite-covered deck between the house and the flat, but they have separate

power and my intention is to rent them separately with 2 separate leases.

Regarding house + contents insurance and landlord insurance, would an insurance company

require 2 separate policies or one?

I'm assuming 2 policies would be a higher cost?

GIO would probably do it.  I've got a block of units all on the one title where one of the units has its own independent roof, and they are the insurers. Just the one policy.  They call it "Investor Home and Contents Insurance".
