All Topics / Legal & Accounting / IP, CGT, Sale Appraisal in Email Form
Hi,
In ATO point of few, will email sale appraisal acceptable for CGT purposes in relation to selling an IP?
The reason I asked is several agents are sending me email appraisal instead of letter. Since I just need sale appraisal to calculate CGT in the future, I feel that the agent is not willing to do more than that till I really want to sell it.
Thanks in advance
No. Agents cannot value properties unless they are licenced valuers. A letter won't even help you. You need a valuation from a valuer.

Thanks Terry.
Can anyone recommend me property valuer for S.E. Suburb in VIC?
I tried to get quotes from several valuers but the quote given to me about $660.00 mark. Is this about right? They only asked the suburb and estimated value.
Which lender are you with?
You might be eligible for free vals as part of your package – ie. ANZ's breakfree package.
Some allow free upfront vals which are technically supposed to be for the purpose of taking out a loan.
Cheers
