All Topics / Value Adding / Bathroom Before Revaluation an Need Advice
Hi guys,
Been doing a renovation over past 4 months. Have left the bathroom to last.
Space is small 2100 x 1600 and the layout I am happy with.
Have ripped up floor tiles/ skirting tiles, removed basin, old fittings etc. However its a shower bath combination which already tiles in fairly good condition but old style. The problem is that the tiles on the wall next to shower and round bath are a gloss white with a green fleck from the 1970's. Not horrific but just not new/ current-
Question to all you out there-
Is it ok to leave existing in shower/ bath and then put a new white gloss tile along the skirting/ border and along top of new basin, both cases will bud up against old ones or will it look ridiculous. Goal is not to have a brand new bathroom just something that will help lift the value of the home.
Have left these same tiles in the kitchen and has come up well
Have tried to find the old ones to continue the course along the border/ basin so is all universal but cant seem to find anywhere. Will re-grout it all but worried having 3 different tiles in bathroom maybe too much.
Thoughts? and does anyone know where you can get old tile designs from the 70's? I live in Perth.
Appreciate the time you all take to respond in advance! Cheers
Why not paint them white with tile paint?

What Catalyst said.
From memory, there's some ok tile paints out there – it would be the most cost effective and efficient way of getting it done, that's for sure.

Just make sure It’s done right. Peeling paint on tiles looks horrible.
Hi, Please post a photo! I'm happy to give you my opinion (interior designer with 20 years experience specialising in value-add renovations on shoe-string budgets!) but it's much easier to give recommendations from a photo than a written explanation.
