All Topics / Help Needed! / Do you really need the advice of a “wealth creation” specialist?
My newbie question is about building my team and the costs of getting "expert" advice.
I don't want to make a mistake while I am starting out on this road by picking a dud!!
I have looked at so many "financial planning" and "wealth creation" websites and I am wondering how they charge.
Most seem to give an initial meeting for free, and I understand about getting "independent" advice, but before deciding on who to pick I would like to know how they charge and how much I would be expected to budget for this "expert" advice.
I would love to hear people experiences, and whether or not they recommend them or is getting a good property accountant enough?
Would love to hear some feedback to help with decision making.
I for one don’t beleive in wealth creation specialist. All the information you need is here.
Hi fbmisc
What sort of advice are you looking for?
Personally I wouldn't bother with the financial planning if your after advice on IP related matters.
For investment property financing and structuring, a good broker is important and most of us don't charge a fee for service (we get paid a commission from the lender).
An IP savvy accountant is another good person to get on board.
If you're buying interstate then a good buyers agent may come in handy.
Apart from that, there's nothing that you can't learn yourself about IP related matters without forking out big bucks on mentorship type companies that operate in an unregulated environment.
Cheers

Subscribe to the monthly property magazines… They will be heaps cheaper than a seminar or 'wealth creation' service and you will probably learn a much broader range of things as well.
Like the others said, I think everything you need to know can be learnt from books, magazines and the people on this forum!
Cheers,
Hey guys,
Thanks for the comments, as I have been doing my own research I did wonder what "added" benefits these type of companies might add. I suppose they are there to help the people who do not want to or do not have the time to do their own research.
So now I just need to get a good mortgage broker and an IP accountant.
Any recommendations for Brisbane would be appreciated.
Give Jamie a call (above). He's a great mortgage broker and will make sure you are set up correctly from the start.
