    Hi all,

    Just a general discussion thread for some brain-storming.

    Probably we all are aware that National Broadband Network (NBN) is rolling out soon.

    This is new technology infrastructure aimed at driving technology innovation in the country. The NBN and government responsible for NBN claims that innovation can drive better service delivery.

    You can see the NBN roll out plan on its web-site below

    http://www.nbnco.com.au/index.html?icid=pub:hme::men:hme

    I just wonder whether this "new kind of infrastructure" will have positive or negative impact on the property Capital Growth / Rental Returns.

    Will people pay higher price if the property is in the NBN connected area in the next 1-5 years ?
    Will people choose to rent in NBN coverage area ?
    How rural or regional property markets react to this infrastructure ?
    How important it is to have home in high-speed broadband area? (I think, yes for a ADSL2 or higher connection, Not sure about Fiber connection).

    Any discussion welcome !

    Thank you in advance !

    Best Regards,
    WC

    The one thing I do know is that NBN is a very uncertain thing as the next mob that will run government do not agree with it.

    I think it is a dead duck and a govt gravy train with all the usual parasites feeding of it.
