I got a couple of quotes for Home and Contents Insurance for our new home.

In the Product Disclosure Statement, there are clauses for "Exclusions" These are loss or damage that is NOT covered by the insurance company.

    One of the exclusions is
"Settling, expansion, shrinkgage or any earth movement other than earthquake"

Our neighbours' house is for sale, and there is every chance it will be sold, demolished and new units constructed. Does the Insurance Exclusion mean that any land slippage/sinkage due to digging, demolition, site prep, etc will NOT be covered? Is there any insurance that DOES cover this? Or is the neighbour themselves liable for any damage to our home due to their site works?

Our new house is located on a slope so we are a little concerned about land movement and its potential affect on our house.
