    hi Perth renovators/builders

Just wanted to put a plug out there for my amazing tiler, he's just finished the second property for me with a perfect, immaculate tiling job and at a decent price. He is Polish, has incredible pride in his work and great attention to detail, used to work for Zorzi and another luxury builder, still contracts to them sometimes. Wanted to put a plug out there in case anyone is looking for a tiler at the moment, he was about to take a large job up near Geraldton and stay up there for 3-4 weeks but it was just cancelled at the last minute so he currently is looking for projects/work.

In addition, I have created through another property investment group a list of recommended tradies and property contacts in Perth. This list has painters, handymen, carpenters, cabinet maker, turf layer, tilers, sparky, plumber, mortgage broker, settlement agent and more.

My rule is simple – PM me a recommendation of a property contact you have personally used and would use again, any comments/feedback, and then you'll get a copy of the list.

So if anyone needs a tiler, or wants to add a recommendation and get the list, please PM me. and because I'm not sure if I get an email when I get a PM, perhaps reply to this post so I know to check!

    Cheers,
    Emma

    Hi Emma,

I'm making a comment to make sure this post stays at the top of the pile!

It's great to hear positive feedback about your tiler and tradies in general. Thanks for starting it off.

There is a lot of negativity out there about tradespeople which seems to put some people off renovating. However as you have proved there are some (actually, many) very good, reliable hard working tradies out there.

My advice to people looking for good tradies is to not pick someone randomly out of the Yellow Pages but to ask for referrals from other renovators and retail stores (eg ask at the paint shop for recommended painters, ask at lighting shop for recommended sparky etc). Also, if you have found one great tradesperson, ask THEM who else they know. It's likely that a good tradie (such as your tiler, Emma) will only recommend other tradies with high integrity.

Thanks Jane, most of my tradies are just wonderful and I’m looking forward to the next project with them. You’re right also about getting tradies to make the recommendations, I have got many other trades through my own reliable tradies’ recommendations. They don’t want to put their reputation on the line by recommending someone less than average.

thanks for your post Jane, and I hope you’ll forgive me for my lack of reply to you!! As you know I’ve had a pretty hectic start to the year. I still owe you a feedback video… :)

Hi wisepearl – what a fantastic idea.  I have PM'd you a great painter I just used who was fast and great workmanship.  Am tearing hair out looking for a decent and RELIABLE tiler.  Who'd have thought it was so tricky?  So glad I found this site and your post. Look forward to hearing from you.

    Hi Emma (wisepearl),
how's it all going?, looks like you've been busy. It's Mel here, we caught up a couple of times, once in Geraldton I believe for coffee.
Not sure if u remember but at the time decided to quit my stressful corporate job because I was miserable… I went back to study, get qualified in a drafting diploma. Now work from home (contract to architect for renovations/developments ect) and love it!
Are u still hanging out at the same property investing group, think I might drop by to the next one :)

G’day guys, I am new to this site and joined as I was in the search of being able to voice my comments and experience lol
I have recently moved into a new house here in Perth and it needed a bit of work, I was recommended a website to find good local Tradies, which was Rate My Tradie, I posted the jobs I needed doing and with in a couple of days I had a team of Tradies ready to go to work! It was fab! They where all local guys and I got to rate them at the end. I totally recommend it http://www.ratemytradie.net.au

Seems like Emma (wisepearl) does not frequent these forums nowadays, so wondering if anyone else here received her  tradies list? If so can you please forward this list to me via PM.

    Thanks.
