    Hi,

My plumber has just installed our bathtub, including making the frame and connecting the sewerage. He has placed the tub on 2 ‘piles’ of timber. The piles of timber have been nailed and/or glued.

The plumber says he and his workmate have both stoood inside the tub, and he claims it is ‘rock solid’. A bucket of water seems to drain almost 100%- there is a hardly-noticable puddle on the left side of the tub.

Also, the tiler says the bathtub is actually on an angle- it is ‘1.5 mil out’, (leaning to the left side).

Should I insist that the plumber redo the bathtub, mounting on cement/slurry instead of on the 2 piles of wood?

What would the long-term ramifications be if I left it as it is?

    Cheers,
    J

There should be full support under the bath – it reduces damage from point loads.
