    Hi all,

I'm chasing up some landlord insurance quotes and wondering if anyone could give me an idea of how to calculate the building replacement cost of a residential house? (I need it for the "sum insured" part)
FYI the place I'm looking at is a mix of fibro/hardiplank construction, built late 70s, 2 story, roughly 75m² on each floor.

    Thanks

Most insurer will have a online building cal for sum insured …..ie http://www.comminsure.com.au/ —-> go to the bulding sum insured cal.

or speak to builders for a more accurate value.

    Regards
    Michael

Many people typically underestimate the replacement cost of their home building and contents when they arrange insurance cover. It is up to the applicant to nominate the replacement sum insured during the insurance application process. In an effort to help you with this part of the process, Budget Direct has made available a range of calculators from 'Reed Construction Data' and 'Sum Insured' that you can use as a guide to estimate the replacement value of your home building and contents.
