Hi peeps I was gonna title the subject " conveyanvcers are rip offs" but thought better of it.

We are buying a few acres outside Geelong and I know as a society we are accustomed to just bend over and accept all the charges companies etc. throw at us,<moderator: delete language>. They have put $85 for photocopying, admin charges, faxes & incidentals. I think they just pull this out of their butt to be honest, just screw the customer over for 85 bucks and they do that to everyone and its a nice little extra income. The other thing is, they have done two title charges and we get charged 2 x $40 becasue they said there was an error on the vendors side (the shire). Anyway, I know its just peanuts but its just the principle of being over charged for everything. The actual conveyancing fees were 600 bucks which I spose is normal for an acreage. Im not being petty, every dollar counts these days.

If you don't like it then don't use their services.

I am a solicitor and have charged $8,000 for conveyancing for one guy as I billed by the hour.

There are guys down chinatown doing it for $500 if you want.

For the amount of work and risk involved I would think $600 is extremely cheap.
