Hi , we are first time buyer of a PPOR which we intend to live in , but cannot move in immediately after settlement until after 1 month after. Can we get a home and contents insurance for an empty house,- empty for around one month, before we will be able to move in.?

Which insurers will /can provide home and contents insurance in this particular situation.

thanks a lot for any help

    Hi propertybee

You’ve have to call a few and ask. It might be a matter of them simply increasing the excess for any claims made during that period. One month doesn’t seem like a great deal of time (but I could be wrong).

    Cheers

    Jamie

If you let them know it's empty you are covered. There may be a small extra charge. That's for building. Contents is different.
