Terri Scheer says they don't insure properties that don't have a licensed property manager.
Anybody know of any reasonable deals for landlord insurance for self managed IP?
TS are $280 p/a
The only company I found that covered self managed IPs wanted nearly $1000

I have a landlord policy with NRMA with tenant protection and rental default that we self managed with no drama. I believe QBE are ok, and I am pretty sure AAMI. QBE are crud though unless you pay for rent default etc extra.

Have you tried EBM?
They are great for my IP insurance policies- fixed premium and low excesses with reasonable claimable amounts…..
See if they do self managed policies?
I have landlord insurance with EBM on my investment properties and they cover self managed and were even cheaper than T.S.
I've got policies with ING and Real Insurance – both allow me to self manage and both are competively priced.

Do you mind if I ask how much they charged and how much the property is insured for? I have a couple up for renewal next month so it might be time to shop around.
