permeable driveways (sounds boring)

Hi all. Wanted to ask all you developers if anybody has had any experience in building driveways for developments with permeable material. (Dont post a reply asking what a permeable driveway is lol – look it up on the net). As many of you are aware if you where to knock down the one house for instance and build 3 townhouses all the drainage from rain water needs to be managed using retention pits most of the time (to keep the council happy). So this a possible alternative and cheaper also and I am in preliminary investigations atm. Anyone. Thanks guys
