All Topics / Help Needed! / Cost of concrete parking bay?
Hi all
I'm planning to replace the naturestrip out front of my home with a concrete parking bay. It would be a 2.3×5.4m parking bay, which will be in between two driveways, so the parking bay concrete will have to be "dowel barred" into the two respective existing driveways and existing kerb. Apparently it would require 5cm of crushed rock base below 20cm thickness of concrete.
For those of you in the know on this topic, what ballpark figure would you expect to pay for this, inclusive of site excavation?
Thankyou in advance!

Jac,
You’re looking at excavating about 180-200mm off the surface, so a bobcat & float, say $500, tip fees another $500 for venm.
Sand, 30mm about 0.5 m3 or 0.8t $100
150mm 25 MPa concrete 2.5 m3 allow $750 as it is a small load
F62 mesh, 1 sheet $100
Dowels, wouldn’t bother unless you’re on reactive soil or fill but allow $10 each @ 900mm cts
Labour 2 men x 1 day, say $750
edgeboards & sundries $100
Clean up $???So I’d be putting around the $3k mark.
But that would depend upon where you are in relation to suppliess etc
Scott you are a champion. Thankyou for your reply! One of the quotes I got was pretty much bang on $3k. Another was $900. Led me to ask the chap if he understood he needed to excavate the site and dowel bar as per the council stipulation. He sounded confused. I think I'll stick with the chap that quoted $3k and who I've used for other concreting jobs before.
