All Topics / Help Needed! / Estate planning and setting up will – where to go?
HI all,
I want to set up a will and am in the process of finding out more about it.
What's your experience?
Is setting up a will with the NSW Trustee and Guardian a good way to do it? They will create and safe keep your will for free.

Many thanks for your contribution people!

I don’t think it is a good idea to appoint a govt department to look after your affairs – it will be expensive too.
Do you have some family members who could act as your executor? You should use a few in case one or more predecease you – but you should update your will every year too. They also have to be willing and able to act.

The NSW Trustee will remove all estate decisions from your family and will charge a quite high percentage to administer.
Just get any local solicitor to draw up a will. Most solicitors do this. Just look in the Yellow Pages.

Thanks Terry and Linar. Will contact a local solicitor.
