I need to sell a property in Palmerston North NZ CBD. Value 500k. Commercial zoning. I've had plenty of growth but need cash ASAP for an investment in Sydney (I'm in Melb). I was quoted 5% in agents fees ? If I could punch the agent via phone I would however all I could do was swear and curse via the phone… A second quote came in a 4% however I was thinking 1.5% to 2.0% (what I pay in melb on property same value). Are agents fees higher in NZ?
Hi Banker, Yes, unfortunately you’re going to have to virtually punch that broker because fees are higher here in NZ. The 4% is a good deal, so ask that agent what you’re getting for the money, how much advertising they’ll be doing for you. Do they expect you to contribute to the advertising.
BTW, PM me with some info on the deal. I’m a buyers agent you never know, if the price/yield is right, I might have a buyer for you!!
