    Hi there,

Am currently looking to get into the 'property market'- not really as an investor but more so to buy my own house. However, my budget doesnt allow me to buy in the area i would like to buy and live; hence i had the idea of finding an 'investor' who would invest in a property with me. The way i see it working is that the house would be purchased as a 'seperate business' deal, however i would then live in this house, paying rent as any tennant would. Thus even if paying rent at least half the rent would then go towards my mortage payment each week.
The investor would at least have piece of mind as the rent would be gauranteed as i would be living there- plus the house would not get trashed by dodgy renters- so it sort of works out for both.

My question is- does anyone know where to find investors who might be interested in this concept? Where do i advertise. Also, has anyone done this before and are there better ways of doing this?
Would i purchase the house in my name so as to get the first home buyers and lower interest rates? Or would it have to be seen as an investment? Any ideas?

If buying jointly, then too risky to use someone you don't know – what if they stop paying the loan = you will be left with it.

A better way may be a lease option type deal where they own it and you pay rent, with part of the rent going towards the price you will pay for the property.
