    Hi all

Something to think about, a few years ago i wanted to get into the stockmarket.  I saw and heard speakers,  etc .  I, at the time agreed, why would you spend $5k for a program, workshop etc  all the info is in books and internet etc.

I  subscribed to the latter thought.

Now still breathing oxygen after going through the GFC and losing everything i am going to now do a workshop on property and put $5k on the credit card. I cannot afford to pay that but sometimes you just have to change what has not worked.

    Hi Melbproperty,

if your looking for a less expensive option, please check out http://www.RenovateAndProfit.com.  they have fantastic educational materials and software, way below other prices.  They are also conducting a seminar for only $397 in Melbourne July 10th and Brisbane August 28th.

Stargazer – Thank you for your post. It takes guts to open up and be honest like that!

I went through a similar situation as you – except mine was in owning a previous business. I am now re-building through property and the stock market.

I agree with you Stargazer, spending the money on your education IS important.

Yes – experience is a great teacher; but education will help make the path ahead alot clearer.

    Hi Melbproperty,

Congratulations for taking the first step. A few questions for you:

    1. What is your plan to get going?

    2. Do you have a target area that you would prefer to start in? and Why?

    3. What hours are you willing to commit to this?

    4. What developers/companies have you contacted so far to ask about doing a free weeks work etc (work experience)?

    5. What is your working background?

    6. Why property developing?

The best thing you can do is go out and get your hands dirty, anyone can sit in a seminar and waste money. Get on a job site and ask questions… No two developments are the same, you are always learning something new each and every time, be open minded. The logical thing is to start small with something like a boundary realignment or subdivision just to become familiar with council requirements and work your way up from there.

    DON’T
jump into a development blind as it will cost you dearly.

    Hi all,

I also think that Birchcorp, considering you are a financial planner and you are advising people how to invest wisely, you should be advising people to become more educated through legitimate avenues.  No body knows everything and if they think they do you should avoid them like the plague.

I encourage people to further their education and become more informed. You may like to re-read my post, particularly directing you to the third last line…. I have taken the time to quote what you may have missed, "That does not mean you should not pay for this gig mentioned above, but when you are well researched you are able to make an informed decision on whether the course is suitable for you".

I hope this clears things up………

    Hi Melbproperty
We did the RESULTS program as a couple.
Our mentor was Brendan, he was excellent.
It was a success and delivered for us on it's promises.
If you want a mentor, go ask them, assess it, get names of existing
members and past ones. Ask them all, find others amongst members who
have similar goals, network with all those with similar goals.
You will know after that if it's a mentor program for you.
When you know what to do, take action.
    Good luck
    Cheers
