I seen this guy on the T.V. and it's the only time i felt like investing in a Vehicle because of how much it could save. The future is such an exciting time to look forward to with talk of more and more electric cars. It's just brilliant and so good for the climate.
I wander how much time goes into the power bill. I think the distance they can travel and the motors etc will keep getting better and cheaper as well.
And the day of not paying for petrol will be a welcomed day indeed.

Till now i was thinking you had to buy some flash 50k model to get the electronic version but something such as this could convert something that would suit me for 3-5k.

Email MeI'm often reading these days about how electricity bills in all the states seem to be being hiked 60-70% and if the ETS legislation becomes law that will probably only go up, so how much is electricity going to cost in the future??? I know a lot of people are screaming about how they are going to struggle to pay their electricity bills as it is???
I am thinking of getting another car soon and maybe converting to gas, but no, an electric car isn't on my shopping list yet…
Isn't it a bit of false economy. Sure no petrol but the power stations still need coal. And if it takes a whole day to charge the car? Sorry Jaffasoft wont rain on your parade any more.

Email MeHI all. i have been lookming at getting a new car for a year now, but i keep buying more property!! having said that i am leaning towards a diesel vehicle, most likely a hyundai santa fe. A diesel gets better fuel economy and soon unleaded petrol will be phased out. (already begun here in my neck of the woods) meaning you either have to buy premium or E10. Most cars over aboout five years of age can't run on E10 without causing mechanical damage.And before anyone asks why i need a car of this size, i ahve three children, we go camping and I have a penchant for transporting furniture in my car, such as the antique dresser i bought on ebay and picked up yesterday LOL.

Hey you don't need to explain to us Sonya, I've got 2 kids and my other half really wanted a Range Rover. I have a tow connection on a HSV R8 particularly for the transporting stuff part. (Bet ya now I have it I'll never need it lol). I'm looking forward to the camping part when they get older
I just think back to the good ole days when my parents had a car that I'm sure was bigger than their house lol! Good thing my giant petrol guzzling engine runs on Premium…….D

Email MeMy mum and dad always had station wagons, with four kids it was mandatory in the days before people movers! I remember travelling in the back sitting on a bean bag!!! No seabelts back there. My twin brother and I used to share a seatbelt in the middle of the seat.

Yeah slowly! Looking for 2 new sites to work on. Have changed strategies to concentrate purely on development and subdivision. We will have to sell all of the next lot so we can pay down some loans. If we can get two going or one whopper site we should be on track. I'm itching for some shopping though. I'm always looking, driving round, on the net, everywhere bad huh!
That's great that you have found three flats, on the same block/title? Bring on cash flow, we have just had depreciation schedules done on the units we just finished. Bring on the deductions lol.

Email MeI just bought the Ford Festiva Econetic, diesel. Most fuel efficient car you can buy right now. I get 900km out of a 40 litre tank. ($50 to fill) My previous car was a Hyundai Getz and the fuel economy in my Econetic is twice as good.
If you wanted to buy an electric car you could look into solar power farming for extra electricity. A friend of a friend has just set up a solar farm, returns are very good. Looking into it myself.

Certainly, cleaner, greener energy is the way of the future. But for now savings can be better had by just purchasing a $7000 decent second-hand car. The nicest one I have seen must have been that late 1980s Toyota my friend picked up from the side of the road at just $500. A bit rough around the edges but it ran perfectly fine.
The other thing that is to be considered is power vs. economy. I think the two are NOT mutually exclusive only when we look at today's diesel cars. When buying a car recently I had considered Hyundai's i30 diesel, which looks like a nice buy, considering it comes with auto for those of us who do a lot of travel in stop-start traffic. Ultimately though, I bought a Mazda 2 which handles nicely, is an absolute joy to park, and when there's only one person in the car (ie. the driver), performance is pretty spiffy.
Put 3 more people in the car though, and try the hills, and you'd realise the 1.5L engine tears a bit…not enough power. Gone are the days when people used to routinely tolerate 0.9L cars, even when ferrying friends around. My Dad told me about those. In order to get up an incline you had to accelerate dutifully on the way down first to ensure you even had enough momentum to get over the next hump.
Yesterday I saw them talk about the new Audi RS5 that had me drooling. I have a soft spot for Audis. Maybe I'll have one, in 30 years time!!
