I've noticed some apartments very close to a major train station in my area.
I will be contacting the real estate agent soon to enquire about prices however would anyone have any experiences or advice regarding property very close to train stations / tracks?
The property faces the tracks, literally 10 meters, and is approx 50 meters from the station.

Hi,
Some one I know paid just under a mil for a house that backed directly onto the tracks. Meanwhile the kids love it! I would call a couple other agents and ask about ease of rent/sale. Maybe knock on the doors and ask the people living there if it really doesn't worry them it doesn't matter. They might not ever be there as they commute to work.

HI, i rented with a friedn whose property looked onto the railway line, narrow road in between. the trains were noisy, however i got used to it very quickly. She said that when she and her boyfriend were looking for a property they wanted to uy in inner city Sydney and they tossed up between buying near then airport and being under a flight path and buying near the trainline. they decided that the trains would run less frequently than the planes and therefore would be less of a noise factor. I don't recall there being any properties vacant or for sale when I lived there. cheers Sonya
