    G'day,
I'm trying to get started investing and have approval to purchase up to 180k and want to find a positive cash flow property with some potential for growth. Is there a website with reliable up to date info on population forecasts, future infrastructure developments, employment statistics etc. The council sites I've tried all seem to be 2-5 years old and therefore not very relevant. I'm also very new to computers and this may be contributing to my ignorance of these things. I only found this great site by accident! Any tips on this matter or any advice on investing in general will be greatly appreciated -Thanks

Growth projections and accurate data are only found a year or two out after a national census. Companies like BIS Shrapnel analyse this information and produce projections based on the data extracted from the published information. Raw data can be found on the http://www.abs.gov.au website.

Many larger (real estate) companies do their own research and publish intermittent data for specific areas eg RP Data, PRD Realty, Colliers, JLL, CBRE etc however very few produce information on residential.
