Hi Guys,
Does anyone have experience with claiming the FHOG but not ending up moving into the house.
While i fully intend to move into the house, i am curious if anyone has experience with being unable to move into the house within the 6 month period.
Did the government come a knocking ?
tell me, do you feel lucky?
i doubt they will do a door knock but all sorts of matching data goes on.
plus you would be unwise to think people do not talk, and it is surprising how often this happens.
regards.not worth the risk of paying back $17000+ and fines!
Yes, there are plenty of people who were audited and had to give back the grant. Some court cases too.

Hi everybody,
I'm pretty sure the rule is you have to move in within the first 12 months and stay for a minimum of 6 months. You can then move and rent it out again and you will still be eligable for the FHOG.Hydra
Hey can you claim the FHOG when buying a PPOR if they have already own a IP?
thx guys.
