    Hi all,

I just purchased a block of land (absolute beach front  ) in Mission beach area and am looking into putting a holiday/permanent  rental building on it. (The settlement is in less than 30 days)

Being In Melbourne I thought it may be a good idea to put a factory built home on it like this one for 230k(12 weeks completed):

or I can go with a  home builder/designer for 236-275k (7 months to build)

But I am not sure how I am going to manage quality/issues when I am in Melbourne.

     My key objectives are:
    -Minimum 150 sqm
    -Budget under 300K including landscaping
    -Low maintenance
-has to be in tune with surroundings
-time to the market (sooner the better obviously)
    -managing the project remotely

Has anyone had a similar experience in remote building? can you suggest other options?

    Thanks
    MrFish

I think the factory built home looks more in keeping with the beach style, however the price is starting from $230k and often what happens is that gets pushed higher once you add everything you want in.

What about contacting a local builder up there as they have an understanding of what to do and what not to do in their area.

Try looking on the Master Builders website to locate a member  that works in the area and have a chat to them….
