can anyone give me an idea in relation to the future growth in Dalby??? I have relations there who have bought an investment property a couple of years ago which is doing ok but they say to hold off for a while??? Dalby is an agricultural town surrounded by coal with seamgas potential. Prior to the downturn we were quite serious about there and Chinchilla but now I just don't know.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi There

I, and a lot of other property investors, are of the belief that scarcity of land is what drives property values up.

I live in Ipswich and I MAY invest out as far as Toowoomba if I get a good enough deal, but not any further out than that.  There is A LOT of free space on the map out in Dalby.

IF you are looking for capital growth, then the closer you can get to Brisbane the better.  Obviously there are still some places you want to avoid, but not as much as I'd avoid Dalby.  If you are limited by the amount you can spend on a property in order to get started, then maybe you could start in Toowoomba or Ipswich at the moment?

What you DON'T want to do is wait 5 years until you can afford a $400 000 townhouse in Indooroopilly only to find out that now you can't buy anything because they've all gone up another $200 000!

    Good luck! :-)

    Hi rekooh01,

I was given and subsequently put together some information on Chinchilla, for a client of mine who looking to purchase there. I guess it would probably apply to Dalby as well, regarding the area and whats going on there. There was quite a bit of information and links. I would be more than happy to pass it on for you to have a look at.

I am leaving for a few days interstate later this afternoon so probably wont be able to send it until weekend.

Hi  – I am also thinking about investing in the Dalby region and am very interested as to why this is a place to avoid.

    Thanks.

dont just take i opinion as i have looked out there and oakey and if you can secure a positive cash flow property then y not, you need to ask yourself if you are after capital gains or rental return?  you can ask as many questions about a suburb but when it comes down to it you need to invest in what u think suits ure posittion as everyones is different

I'm thinking of Dalby as well. Even though there is a lot of land…people still want to be near the centre of town which will still stay mostly in the same place.
I hear there is a big Engineering firm building offices at the moment…good news I think!

Ostwald, at the edge of town, also Black Toyota and the one thing that means the most – Ergon has just built TWO new substations
