All Topics / Value Adding / Replacing Window With Bifold Doors
Hi,
Is it expensive to replace an existing window with a bifold door?
Thanks,
PP
Hi PP,
I was looking into this same scenario recently.
You need to have a few checks done…is it a load bearing frame? i.e. Load requirements.
How many bifold doors.
Standard sizes vs Custom.
Material.
I had a few quotes around 5k including:
– Install
– Metal Load bearing frame,
– Wooden BiFold Doors,
– Custom height and width (was very close to standard sizes, so included this free)Let me know how you go.
Cheers,
MiikeNo it is not too expensive as you will get some value of your old window too. Justification also depends upon the increased facility.
Hey Paul,
Depends on the bi-fold.
If it is wider than the window, there will be some costly building works requred, new lintel etc
If same size as the window then the major cost will be te bifold and install labour.
Count on about 2 days install and rectification worksas a mingood luck
