I am currently in training to run the Gold Coast Half Marathon, Sunday 5th July, to raise money for cancer research. Luke's and mine life has been flipped upside down by this disease, and we are definitely not alone. We have felt so helpless as more and more loved ones are diagnosed with cancer. How do you tell someone it will all be OK when their oncologist is giving them a survival statistic?
To stop this feeling of helplessness I have organised the "Mighty PA Team" – a group of runners who are raising funds for the research into a cure for cancer. Each runner has their own profile web page, story to tell and fund raising goal (mine is $2000!)
If anyone would like to know more about the Mighty PA Team or would like to sponsor a runner (i.e. me! ) please follow the links below:
If you are thinking of running in any of the Gold Coast Marathon events (5Km, 10Km, Half & Full Marathon) then please consider joining our team and help raise valuable funds for the war against cancer. Entry will be discounted when entering as a member of the Mighty PA Team.
If you would like to know more about the PA Foundation who will be the receipient of our fund raising efforts for the continued cancer research click on the following link: http://www.pafoundation.org.au/
Thanks Ross for your comment. Luke and I have been part of the Results and Graduate program and have heard stories from time to time of people facing cancer within the community.
Here's hoping a few people will get behind me and support a worthy cause!
Thanks again.
Connie
