building permit……will you need the original?

Hi All,

We recently signed a contract for our house, just to clarify few things
There was an extension done to the property around 5years ago, hence the vendor statement includes all copies of building inspection, certificate of final inspection and certificate of insurance. Should I requested the original copies of this document or the copies should be ok?
