I am very interested in investing in the US property market. I am just curious if there are any restrictions or legal issues placed upon foreign investors with any of the States. Also, what is the best way to set yourself up to buy properties over there. E.G. I have a family trust here for positively geared properties. I certainly am not over the real estate tax laws in the States?? Can you setup off shore accounts to reduce your tax liabilities??

Any help would be much appreciated!!!

As long as you have equity in your Australian properties or cash you will be ok but dont look to obtain a loan over in the US as other than Florida all of the lenders we have used for the last 5 years have either gone out of business or have shut up shop to FN lending.
