My partner and I are living in the NT in Education funded houses, therefore no rent, no bills. Could we get FHOG on a house in Tas and claim that as our PPOR, seeing that we are only out in the bush NT on a temporary basis for the next 12 months?

Buy off the plan before JUNE 30th 2009 and move into it for 6 months after the house construction is complete.

Save as much money till that point in time that you enter into a construction contract for a deposit.
