Land Infomation before buying.

I may purchase a vacant block of land soon. After checking the sect 32 what elles is it wise to do.
Pre perchase soil test?
Measure the block?
Check the easement?
What about rocks under the surface, a bit of an unknown????
Fill, how can I tell if it have fill on it?
Levels on the land, fall?

Where can I get all this info. Its not all in the vendors statment. Is it available at council office if so is it free??
What have you guy done in this situation. Any help would be great.
