All Topics / Legal & Accounting / claiming reserch etc on tax
hi,
i understand you can't claim costs such as travel to property inspections etc.
only costs after purchase can be claimed.
is this only after settlement or after a deposit and a signed contract?
also what about if you already have several IP'S, can you claim anything else to do with looking for your next one to purchase, such as inspections etc?
thanks for any answers,
frosty1
hi,
me again,
also wondering if buying a land and house package,
should i keep records of travel costs to the building site for progresive inspections, colour & component selections, discussions with builder/developer, phone calls etc.
can i claim any of these things?
maybe it can only be used to add to the cost base, for capital gains tax?
thanks again,
frosty1
