    Hi everyone, New member here, first post.
    I'm sorry if this topic has been done but I can't find anything via search.
    Is anyone aware of the detail of the upcoming govt scheme that offers $6000 in tax offsets for 10 years to investors who supply new rental housing at a discount?
    In particular;
    Is it available to smaller private investors or institutions only?
    Can the "new" dwelling be a result of demolishing an existing house?
    My own (somewhat ill-informed) opinion is that this scheme has the potential to have a marked impact on the availability/price of rents, vacant land and even existing dwellings.
    Thanks in advance.

    As far as I know, most investment groups have panned the idea. You might do well to google 'affordable housing policy' or the like and see if you get any hits on the govt housing site as well as responses from industry groups like the HIA, MBA etc.
