I have a contract on a property at present, which we has added a clause about ability to clear the property. It is a 60 acre property in SE Qld. Upon searcing the EPA website, it has presented that the property has a large portion of it that is classified as  "2003 non Remnant not of concern regional ecosystem" with "Vegetation Management Act Eseeential Habitat" laid over the top. If we didnt like the property, we'd pull the pin immediately. Problem is we like it.

The property backs onto a national park, however the properties that surround us have not been affected by this as heavily as ours. It almost seems that this runs down the length (and entire width) of our block, almost like a finger sticking out from the national park, as the properties on either side, are not affected. I am quite cranky that rather than cutting a national park at a freehold boundary, the government would allow in depth control over a private property.

I have read a fair bit of the literature on the Codes etc in the past few hours, and it seems too hard.

My query is has anyone out there had any experience with this kind of thing in the past?   Is there any chance of getting part of it lifted off our land so we can selectively clear, and if yes, would we go thru a private enterprise or will the agency assist with having someone come to the property to advise what can and cant be done?   Sorry my question is so long!!!!!
